Foundry 3 Column Vertical Centre

Hi there,

Just looking for a pointer here…

Vertical centre seems to work just fine with the columns/grid stack in Foundry 3 until I put an equalise stack inside a column… I’m then unable to vertically centre a column… There used to be a setting within equalise in Foundry 2 to vertical centre but it doesn’t exist anymore!

Do you mean the content in centred, but not equally so when using the vertical centre option in F3?

So when I have multiple columns with different sized contents and use equalise to make each column the same height the vertical centre options no longer take effect…

The foundry 2 Equalise had a vertical centre solution for this before but unable to achieve the same with the Foundry 3 stacks

If the content was equalised at the top and you had a large top ‘space’ would it not look the same as in F2?

@ablx Have a look at the Content Alignment options in the Columns / Grid tool:

These settings are detailed in the Columns / Grid tool’s documentation page.

Hi Adam,

Yeh these are the settings I have used with centre as the option but when using an equalise stack inside aswell it’s as if it cancels out the vertical centre capability… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

You don’t need Equalize. Maybe I’m misunderstanding your goals.

Being Sunday I won’t be able to look at this until tomorrow.

Hi there @elixirgraphics sorry for the delay on reply! But as an example the second marriages / divorce box is smaller so to make the boxes the same size I have used equalize before however this then doesn’t allow the content to be centre in the available space within the box?

Gotcha. Equalize doesn’t provide a vertical center option as a part of its tool. The new Equalize tool is built a little differently in Foundry 3, approaching its design from a non-jQuery perspective. In doing so this feature isn’t something that came to the updated version. I’ll add this as something to look at for a future update as a new feature.

You can though use some of the built in CSS the comes with Bootstrap to achieve what you’re after for now. On each of your Equalize child items add the following to the CSS Classes field:

d-flex align-content-center flex-wrap

Let me know how that goes for you.

It caused something weird to happen…

Yes, it changed the contents to a flex layout. All of the content converts to the layout type. This would happen if it were an option in the tool, too.

You should be able to skirt it by inserting your content into one container. Say a 1 column Stacks tool or a Foundry Container. If you want assistance please provide a copy of your project file.
