when in edit mode, a user can logout, but the redirection is to the login page, asking for credentials. Would it be possible to redirect to the blog posts instead? this could be defined in the editor stack settings…

That isn’t something that is currently possible. I am wondering what the advantage of this might be?
…just allowing a user with blog edit rights to switch to the blog posts when exiting. In the blog posts I’ve inserted an edit icon button for editing (logging in). Closing the edit section, it could be nice to go back to the blog. Consider it for future updates…
This is probably not a good idea, unfortunately. You don’t want to have visitors clicking there to visit your admin login page.
This is why it is suggested to hide the Editor page from navigation.
