Very basic animation recommendations please

Not a Foundry question - although I would be using the result in Cinema stack.
Is there any (free of course) animation software which this forum can suggest for the complete beginner.

For 3D animation it would have to be Blender as it is open source. It does come however with a rather steep learning curve. …
