Here’s the inspector view:
Attempting to override the CSS in various ways, including hiding (alpha = 0) the background shape isn’t working because of a few !important tags in the element’s CSS.

The problem occurs when I change the Body Font Font Size to 1.75 (from the default 1.0) in the Control Center stack.
The issue shows up in RapidWeaver and local browser previewing; I don’t have a public site to share.
I can have a look later, but my suggestion, as stated in the warning there in your screenshot, is that I would not change the base font size. Change the font size of elements on your page in those specific elements. I almost left the Font Size option off for the body font in F3 to avoid people changing it like this, but against my better judgement I left it in.
