Just an information in case this happens to you.
Yesterday I tested the restoration of a few posts that I had intentionally deleted on my website precisely to check that my backups were working. I was surprised after restoration to find that all the links with the images were broken even though I had not changed anything (neither directory nor hosting…). After almost an hour (and three emails to Adam for nothing) the links appeared. Not understanding anything, I contacted the webhoster.
My webhost replied that there had been maintenance operations at the time of my test.
So when you restore your posts and the links with the images seem broken, it doesn’t hurt to wait a little before starting the “manual” restoration, especially if there is work going on at the webhost…
